This event was held on January 31, 2008. The Buddhist Temple, Vihara Avalokistesvara, where mum prays at organized a charity event to celebrate Chinese New Year by donating foods to the less fortunate. I didn’t attend this charity. I was out of town caring for my grieving aunt. Since mum was involved, I contributed money to purchase some of the donated items. A week before the event, volunteers went around the city to find families who need a helping hand. In all, 128 packages of foods are donated. Some of the donors gave away red envelopes too.
Expenses:
1. Candies (128 packages) Rp 1,632,000
2. Cooking Oil (128 packages) Rp 1,248,000
Total: Rp 2,880,000 (US$ 313.04)
