The 2007 Christmas Donation Drive is officially over. It was a resounding success. What started as a small idea to celebrate Christmas with children at an orphanage has become a collaboration of over 100 donors and volunteers across 4 countries in 4 continents to help out the less-fortunate in Indonesia. In the process, we have touched the life of more than 750 people (perhaps more than 1,000 taking into account their family members).

In all, we raised 59.1 millions Rupiah (US$ 6,423.91). We spent a total of Rp 59,358,341 including Rp 1,000,000 I gave to an employee of PT. PPI, whose mum is suffering from a cancer, for medical expenses.

In case you have not been following what we’ve been doing all this time, here is the recap of the events we did in the past 2 months:

I would like to thank all the donors whose financial contributions laid the foundation for this project to get started.

Special thanks to all the volunteers. All the sweats and tears (fine, there weren’t any tears), the hours in traffic, the heat we battled have all been worth it and then some.

And to the communities that we came in contact with who were grateful of what we do. Thank you for making this project a memorable experience for everyone involved. You made us believe we can make a difference in this world.
