Christmas NightI arrived at Singapore’s Changi Airport about 3 hours ago. I have about 4 hours until my next flight to Jakarta at 8 am, which means I have time to write a quick update. The last 3 days have been amazing. The response I have received from friends and families was overwhelming (in a good way.)  I didn’t know what to expect when I sent out the email. I had to keep toggling between paypal email notification and writing email acknowledgment to the donor. I always believe in the good of people and you showed me exactly why I have that belief.

I set a modest goal of raising 20 millions Rupiah initially; although on the back of my head I believe I can actually do 50 millions, which is now closer to being realized. 100 millions is probably far-fetched but hey, you never know.

Christmas TreeWith good intention to help out comes responsibility. Once I arrive in Jakarta, I will need to open a local bank account so my friends and families in Indonesia can donate to the cause. Paypal is convenient but most of them have never even heard of Paypal. Collecting money is only half the battle, knowing how to spend it efficiently and effectively is an art to itself. I need all the help I can get. I spoke to a friend (my sister’s friend actually) who has done enough charities to put me to shame and she has agreed to take on the adviser role. The morning can’t come soon enough.
