We’ve read about them in the news before; fundraising dinners with certain politicians, or with the president, or the governor, etc; and it costs a lot of money. A few thousand dollars a person to attend a fundraising dinner is common. The more important the campaign, the more expensive it will cost.

Fundraising is unavoidable in politics. Candidate needs money to run a campaign; and unless you are Mitt Romney, who funded a big chunk of his campaign with his fortune, they will have to raise the money from regular people like you and me.

Barack Obama was able to raise money significantly more than the other 2 candidates in the month of February, and 94% of the donations were in the amount of $200 or less. That tells you the number of people who made the contribution to his campaign.

Fancy a dinner with Barack Obama?

In the next week, four supporters will be selected for a new kind of fundraising dinner. Make a donation in any amount between now and 11:59 pm EDT on Monday, March 31st, and you could join Barack Obama and three other supporters for an intimate dinner of five. You will get to share your story and discuss your issues with him.
